Flat Leather Macrame Bracelet by Avanger Flat Leather Macrame Bracelet by Avanger
Although we had a lot of work during the christmas preparations, I couldn't do all without some small leatherworking. So I did this over the course of two nights.
I choose the spiraling knot for this bracelet and did some wet molding to make it flat and comfortable. After that I did some touch up with black dye and edge sealer because it lost some color and shine in the molding process (I used pre dyed leather bands).

There are also some things I learned while doing this and some others I would like to try the next time I do such a bracelet.
First I learned to leave the leatherbands a bit longer than I did. That way it is easier to bind a decent button knot at the end.
Second I want to try some different knots for the beginning and the end of the macrame pattern because these look a bit to bulky for my taste (they arent uncomfortable though).

If you are interested in getting such a bracelet for yourself, feel free to drop me a note :-)

With this I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year :-)

Cheers

This kind of work was really popular when I was child... many many years ago :-)

Yes, I was told that we did macrame too, when I was younger :-)
I liked doing this because it was a rather simple and relaxing work I could do in one night. Something I really appreciated that close to christmas :-)
